1. How do I get a Google Gemini API key?
Visit the official portal at Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com), sign in with your Google account, and click "Get API key" to create a key for free. Copy the generated key, paste it into the LoreSync settings panel under "Google Gemini API Key", and save to begin reading.
2. What should I do if translation fails or shows an error?
Try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Double-check that your Gemini API key is copied correctly without leading or trailing spaces.
- Ensure your Google AI Studio account has available quota remaining (reaching the free tier limit may return quota errors).
- Refresh the novel page or click the extension popup icon to re-save your settings.
- If a specific webpage or chapter fails consistently, please email the webpage URL to [email protected] so we can investigate and support it.
3. Is LoreSync free to use?
Yes, LoreSync is currently completely free! The extension does not charge any subscription or software license fees. You simply use your own Google Gemini API key (Google offers generous daily free usage limits, after which usage is billed directly by Google). LoreSync never charges any markup or hidden service fees.
